A Road of Refreshing OutlooksLast Saturday, we had the Open Lifepath Workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This workshop runs once a month and is opened to the public as part of Leadapreneur's social mission is to help individuals in Malaysia to find meaning in their lives. In other words, to find clarity and generate a sense of purpose that is right and meaningful to them, without the pressures of their teachers, parents and society. It is so exciting to be on this development path in which you help great talent focus their strengths, aspirations and passions into building this nation, one #Lifepath at a time. Here are some of the take-aways: 1. 21st Century is so Complex There are so many things happening in our lives, and at times we feel obligated to follow trends and what everyone else does, because we're told that that's "the best" for us. This pressures from society, combined with the rapidly changing, fast-moving and complex world, packed with abundance and endless information makes it very difficult to focus and and confusing to comprehend what it the 'right' path for us. The reality is that what is best for us can only come from ourselves at a deep individual level. Meaning-making is key to create clarity in the midst of complexity. And that's what the Lifepath is made to do. To provide greater clarity for individuals to lead more meaningful lives. During last week's workshop, it was inspiring to see how the participants uncovered where and why their focus had been diverted, and how to regain clarity on focus on their path. Not what others decide for them, but what they decide for themselves in a way that's meaningful to them. 2. Meaningless Dreams? I want to be a CEO. I want to be a Trendsetter. I want a big shiny car. I want to be a Designer. Yes, in today's world, we can shape and personalize our image and roles, but these dreams ae pointless unless they are meaningful to you. And it takes courage to dig deep into what drives you. What excites you. It also takes focus and structure, or else, we keep on chasing dreams without certain directions or clear milestones, and get lost along the way. In the end, we might loose sight along with our hopes. That is why, when we strive it is important to gain clarity to the cause and structure our action plans. 3. The Best of You Everybody can choose to be great is one of their talents. Everybody has one. It is only a matter of whether we choose to discover it or not, and second to acknowledge and do something with it. It is not about how good others could be in comparison to us, it is about how we can be the best version of ourselves and still make our world a better place to be in. What's Next? TAKE ACTION. The reality is everyone could have dreams and let dreams stay as dreams, but what differentiate us from the achievers, is whether or not we step up and take ownership and accountability for own lives. I get a much better sense of clarity especially what to focus on, in the present and what to prioritize. I love how the workshop boosts my creativity too. I feel so empowered and inspired to make more initiatives to myself. It drove me to take action.
